Rewind #1: Linhares da Beira

Hey there!

In the last 5th October, I had the chance to visit a town, situated in “Celourico da Beira” County, called Linhares da Beira. This village is one of the “Aldeias Históricas de Portugal” (Historical Villages of Portugal), which are constitued by ancient urban centers founded before the Portuguese nation, located in the Beiras region and have a great historical importance. They normally rise in the highlands, as they formed the defense line of the populations that settled there, even before the Roman denomination. They stand out for their military architecture, since most of them are surrounded by walls and develop next to a castle.

Bellow, there are some pictures of this beautiful rustic town. I hope you enjoy!!

The Castle and the surrounds.

“Mercearia Ti´Amélia”: a local grocery shop with a huge variety of typical products of Linhares da Beira.

Time for some details
